Re: Supernova Supergroup: The Next ROCK STAR
I'm interested to see how that turns out. Gilby Clarke is a pretty good rock guitar player. During and after GNR, Gilby put out three solo albums, and also played with Slash's Snakepit.

Re: Buckethead
I've never been able to figure out what the deal is with that guy. I've never actually heard any of his music, so I can't comment on his playing ability. All I've heard is that he's pretty good. But I've actually heard that Buckethead is Steve Vai's alter ego, which I doubt. I can't imagine what ...

Harddriver, I couldn't agree more with you. I get tired of all that sappy American Idol crap too. There a lot of really great musicians out there who don't get any of the respect or credit they deserve.

Re: Local Gas Prices
In Europe and Canada gas is sold in liters. There's approximately 4 liters to a gallon. So they're paying more than we are.

Re: CINDERELLA live in Detroit '91
Yeah, this is a great DVD. You can get it online. I got a copy of it through Amazon.com. Cinderella is a great band, and in my opinion underrated. But about the Lynch Mob DVD, I was dissappointed with it. I'm a huge George Lynch/ Dokken/ Lynch Mob fan. I wasn't too impressed with that DVD ...

Re: IN A DREAM
Yeah I was really suprised when he sang In A Dream. It's cool that he chose a Badlands song. But I'm sure not one person in that audience has ever even heard of Badlands or Jake E. Lee.

Re: Rick Rubin to produce next Metallica album
Megadeth all the way!!! I always thought Megadeth was a better band than Metallica. Better musicians hands down. I like Metallica, and still do, but I think their last couple of alums weren't anything to rave about. I heard St. Anger once and wasn't too impressed. Bob Rock is a really good producer ...

Re: Europe - Live from the Dark DVD
Cool, I'll have to check that DVD out. I got the new album 'Start from the Dark'. It's pretty good. John Norum is a great guitar player, and is definitely underrated. His solo albums are really good. Also, the material he wrote with Don Dokken is pretty good too.

I'll have to check out his website. I just have a couple of the Blue Murder albums, which I thought were really good. He's a great guitarist.

They're both great. But it's hard to compare them. They both have they're own unique style of playing.

Re: all things edie van halen
This is always a big debate among EVH fans. Roth or Haggar? Personally, I like Haggar better. He's got a better voice, and can actually play guitar pretty decent. Roth was a great frontman though. I like both eras of VH. Everything Eddie does is great. The best Roth era album in my opinion was Fair ...

Here's a few I can think of:
Velvet Revolver
Brides of Destruction
Silvertide (if you like an AC/DC style rock band)
Evergrey

What's up with John Sykes?
Does anyone know what John Sykes has been up to lately? He did some really cool stuff with Blue Murder. I know he's put out some other material over the years, mostly released overseas. Just curious.

Re: Bands.............
I think Jake does a great job on his own. However, I think it would be cool to see him playing in a band with Tracii Guns, or maybe even Slash. But I agree with harddriver too. The triple guitar attack is awesome. Especially when you have three killer guitar players who play well together.

Re: what song changed ur life when u heard it?
I would have to say "Still of the Night" by Whitesnake, off of the '87 album. I was 14 when I bought that album. It didn't necessarily change my life, however it pretty much got me into heavy metal and hard rock music.
