I don't know if any of you in the NYC area made it out to the Priest/Whitesnake show...caught them last night at Jones Beach.

Both bands sounded great...nothing like watching Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich trade solos to end the week on a good note (no pun intended).

"Blinded by the Light" by Manfred Mann's Earth Band (written by Springstein I think).

Hearing this song on the radio a million times growing up, I always thought he was saying " wrapped up like a douche ". Huh?!?!?!

I figured he was smoking something but, apparently, he's saying "deuce".

The Falcons organization is positioning itself to make a claim on the signing bonus he received. I believe that is why they only "suspended him indefinitely", rather than cut him from the roster outright (for now). I hope they recover as much $$$ as possible.

The best thing about those samples was their brevity.

Also, I agree with the "Over the Mountain" comment -- yes, very reminiscent -- but hey, reheated Randy licks are better than reheated Frank Marino licks.

I was just wondering if the production model differed appreciably from the customs that Jake actually used.

A few years back, I bought a Jake E Lee model ESP. The headstock has Jake's signature on the left, with a small ESP logo to the right of the signature.

I'm guessing this is the generic production model, as the models Jake used live tended to have the ESP logo towards the left.

I recently picked up Whitesnake's " Live in the Still of the Night " DVD (actually, a dvd/cd combo).

Reb Beach was on rhythm, with Aldrich picking up most of the lead duties.

Man, I thought this guy was a B-level player. My mistake -- he tore everyone's head off in this performance.
