SUHR DOUG ALDRICH HUMBUCKER`S

Postby SHREDDER1 » Thu Mar 17, 2011 9:52 pm

Hi All,
I just had installed a set of pick up`s for my Les Paul.I have to say after
a couple of hour`s of playing that I noticed a couple of distinct thing`s
about them. The most obvious is that it almost sound like there is a built
in compressor. They are definitely highoutput but not noisy in either
clean or high gain.Note`s are definable at high gain..very punchy and
in your face. There is a definable signature sound to them.Lastly,
I tried my White Snake riff`s,alas,I did`nt sound like Doug....
My first impression is I like them so far and am happy with my
purchase.

Doug Aldrich is an absolute monster player. I have tried to sound like some of my favorite players but the tone is in their fingers and not so much what they use or play. Congrats on the new pups and thx for the review.

One thing I've noticed about Doug is that if he puts his name on something its not just for the money, if his name is on it not only will it be a good product, it will most probably be one of the best products of its type you have ever used. His signature overdrive pedal (Majik Box Rocket Fuel) is just incredible, easily the best overdrive/boost pedal I've ever heard, and pretty much everybody else I've seen comment on it says the same thing. I've seen the same types of reviews on those pick-ups, I'm going to put a set of them in my Vandenberg Quilt Top as it has the same construction as a Les Paul Standard which is what those pick-ups were designed for. If he ever does a signature amp, I'll buy one site unseen/sound unheard just because I know if Doug puts his name on it, it will be right. On top of that, he is just one of the coolest guys in the world, with all of his recent fame he still takes the time to acknowledge his fans and is just really humble. In this day and age its nice to see some one like that. And, like MrScary said, he is an absolute monster player, can't wait to see him and WS in Biloxi on May 20th!!!!

That's true Rock, but cool tools don't hurt.
