Yeah, I've got a whole slew of cool ones from shows over the years. My biggest regret is letting my Ex keep a bunch of 'em when we broke up. She's got my Us Festival stub and stubs from Screaming for Vengance tour and Scorps Blackout ...and many more.

No, but I do have a story about that. When 'In Through the out Door' was released and the U.S. tour was announced, 2 friends and I ordered advance tickets through an independent ticket broker (remember those?{pre ticketbastard}). Paid the money up-front and everything...I think it came out to about $25 per ticket including broker fees. Long story short, while we waited the 3 months for the tickets to arrive in the mail we learned that Bonzo had died. I was f**kin' heartbroken because the last time they came to town (1977) I was only 14 and my older brother and his friends wouldn't take me with 'em (I guess they didn't want me to cramp thier style)! Anyway, the broker returned our money and I never got to see Zeppelin. :(

:) Okay, last ones, I promise (unless you guys want to see more).

I went to alot of shows in the 80's....Here's some notable ones:

Image

(L to R) Rush....UFO with special guest Aldo Nova.......The Kinks with special guest Scandal.......ZZ Top with Quiet Riot...and Aerosmith (featuring Jimmy Crespo on lead guitar) with special guest Dio. It was Steven Tyler at his drunken, drugged-out worst! I had seen 'em in 1977 (Draw the Line) and they ROCKED! This show was so BAD I couldn't believe it! Tyler was so f**ked up, he resorted to pulling down his pants and exposing himself! Sang the same verse over and over on "You see me Cryin'" and even fell down a couple of times... It was a shame. I was so embarrassed for the other guys in the band. Dio F**kin' blew 'em away!

Yes! The Ayatolla of Rock n' Rolla.....That's me! :D

Would you like to see some more? Aerosmith with Dokken maybe?..Or how about Santana..or Jimmy Page (solo) and/or with Robert Plant? Or how about Plant solo? or Eric Clapton?....Or maybe Steely Dan....Or Ringo...Or maybe Doobie Brothers,.. or Joe Walsh? Or Roger Waters? Or Neil Young and Crazy Horse?.

Or Ronnie Lane's appeal for A.R.M.S.? (google it) [in short the ARMS tour featured Clapton, Beck and Page (only time on stage together!) with Jan Hammer, Wyman and Watts, Joe Cocker, Paul Rodgers, (with Page...Pre-Firm), Rod Stewart and many more.]

Lemme know...I gotta million of 'em!!!! :D

Very nice! Awesome seat!......Great Stub! :D

What tour was that mrmetal? VOA?

I saw Sammy on the VOA tour...The Cult was the opening act. Unfortunately "The Ex." retained custody of many of my stubs...that one included. :(

That was actually Three Lock Box with Night Ranger opening touring on the Dawn Patrol album. I also saw VOA, that was a great show too. I prefer Sammy as a solo act rather with Van Halen.

:) Yeah, I like Sammy as a solo act too! I saw VH in 1986 with Sammy, (BTO featuring Leslie West opened!)... 2 nights back to back. Good shows..but yeah I agree with you...Sammy's better as a solo act. :)

Kingdom Come
Metallica
Dokken
Scorpions
Van Halen

Metallica was still hungry back then. They were working on And Justice For All at the time, and recording it between shows.

MTV used to run some great contests. They ran this one to go on tour with the Monsters of Rock. You'd get your own tour bus and could take like 10 of your friends with you. Then at Alpine Valley, WI I think it was you got to play onstage with Van Halen. My friends and I sent in over 400 postcards (cuz internet hadn't been born yet, imagine that) trying to win that thing!

All of the bands played well that day (10 hours in the sun and humidity, maaan), but RFK was insane. The field in front of the stage was going nuts-throwing people up in the air in blankets, lighting bonfires and everyone was just throwing trash and screaming. It was a blast, nobody got hurt and a good time was had by all 8)

Look at the price: $25!!
