Top 5 Drummers

Postby excitable87 » Sat Apr 22, 2006 1:09 pm

OK I've got a few minutes to kill, so here's my list of favorite drummers (in no particular order), please feel free to add your own and tell me why mine suck.

1. Tommy Lee (sucks as a rapper but is an excellent drummer)
2. Rick Allen (The Thunder God, you gotta give it up for a one armed drummer)
3. Lars Ulrich (Pre St. Anger)
4. Alex Van Halen (don't believe me? Listen to Hot For Teacher)
5. John Bohnam (started the whole loud drum era of music)

there's so many drummers I like 8)

oh, I think that Lars Ulrich at his best was an average drummer :!:

OK well, like I said you don't have to like mine, just state your own, and put who their with cause I'm sure I've never heard of 75% of the drummers for the Prog bands.

Excitable, you're talkin' my language.....well, I've always looked up to drummers anyway! :-)

1. Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Trans-Atlantic, John Arch, Neal Morse) - He's truly the best drummer in the world! Really, there is no one better, IMO.

2. Tommy Aldridge (Black Oak Arkansas, Ozzy, Whitesnake, House of Lords) - Tommy has beat the hell out of things for a living his entire life! See the new Whitesnake DVD for reference! :-) Tommy is a drum god! \nn/

3. Jeff Plate (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Chris Caffery, John West) - I like his style. He's a rock solid drummer. His style reminds me a lot of Bobby Rondinelli's and Cozy Powell's. He's a great guy to meet too!

4. Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Cans) - He's very technical and innovative.

5. Robert Sweet (Stryper) - The visual timekeeper! Again, he hits hard and he's fun to watch too.
