George Lynch vs. Akira Takasaki !

Postby MetalHead » Tue May 02, 2006 7:45 am

Time for another one of those funny versus threads :D

I picked 2 guitarists which I love(the playing at least), and
they sound pretty similar. Both have Hendrix as an influence.

One is from Japan, one is from the states.
One plays superstrats, one plays a brand he co-developed.

Don't be afraid to hit that vote button.
I'd like to hear the reasons why you pick
the one you do :)

Good luck.

Went for the Crazy Samurai on this one.

I hated to do that too because I really like George Lynch's playing. Akira takes it for me on technique alone. Very similar guitar styles, very similar writing styles in metal...but good lord, Akira live was just freaking awesome.

Akira can out shred, out tap, and just about out play George. Good poll

I'm mesmerized with the playing from both of them, actually. It's sort-of an inside joke with my self, being bamboozled by such elaborate or non-conformist styles. But, I must choose 'merican, and probably more for the sound or tone that George draws from his guitars, and his dedication to the pursuit of "that sound."

I'll have to sit the bench on this one, because I'm not familiar with Akira's playing at all, since I don't own any Loudness.

I hate sitting the bench too!

I like Lynch's tone and vibrato more than Akira's. Make that a lot more.

Technique is technique. And with these guys, having a little more isn't gonna make a hell of a lot of difference.

yeah, well, Lynch is one of my main inspirations ;)

and speaking of the guitar ...
at first the idea was to have it
yellow w/ black tiger stripes like Lynch ;)
