OPERATION MINDCRIME 2 REVISITED

Postby SHREDDER1 » Wed Jun 28, 2006 12:18 pm

HI ALL,
WE DISCUSSED WEATHER ANYONE LIKED THE ALBUM AND
WE HAD VERY MIXED REVIEW`S.IT WAS PROBABLY A WEEK AFTER
IT`S RELEASE,IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY.THE ALBUM TOOK ABOUT
10 LISTEN`S TO SINK IN FOR ME AND WANT TO KNOW IF THOSE
THAT DID`NT LIKE IT HAD A CHANGE OF HEART.

I ALSO CONSIDERED THE ALBUM COMPLEX.SOMEONE HAD ASKED ME
THAT THEY DID`NT CONSIDER IT COMPLEX.IF ANYONE CAN PLAY
NOTE FOR NOTE THOSE TUNE`S AND DO BACKGROUND VOCAL.MY
HAT`S OFF TO YOU.WE HAVE ALOT OF WORLD CLASS GUITAR PLAYER`S
ON THE BOARD.I WOULD`NT PASS IT BY ANY OF MY FRIEND`S HERE
THAT THEY COULD DO IT.AS A GUITAR TEACHER SOME OF THE MOST
SIMPLE THING`S ARE DIFFICULT TO PLAY.FOR EXAMPLE ,TAKE PLAYING
WHAT SOME WOULD CONSIDER SIMPLE, LIKE A ZEPPLIN TUNE.MY
HOT SHOT STUDENTS ATTEMPT IT AND FIND THEMSELVES STUMPED.
IT`S EASIER SAID THEN DONE.THERE ARE DEGREE`S OF COMPLEXITY.
I`M JUST SAYING THAT IT WOULD A CHALLENGE TO LEARN AND PLAY
THE ENTIRE MINDCRIME CATALOG IN IT`S ENTIRETY.
HAVE A NICE DAY ALL.

I'm still liking it. In fact, Mindcrime I and II occupy the #1 and #2 spots in my CD magazine.

I thought it was pretty good. There are some songs I like more than others, but still a solid record IMO.

I like it, but I just don't love it. Queensryche is coming to Knoxville in November to play both I and II in their entirety, but I'm unsure if I'll go or not. I'll have to save my money for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra by then! ;-)

They're playing at the Tennessee Theater which is the most beautiful and classy venues I've ever seen! I can't say enough about what a stellar place that is to see a show! Very, very cool indeed!
