Looking for a new amp :)

Postby MetalHead » Sun Jul 30, 2006 7:30 am

I've been ampless for a while now, and it sucks :(

I've been looking to get a Randall RH100 head or
a Rocktron poweramp+preamp.

The Rocktron route is a little cheaper though
and I've heard nothing but good things about the Randall :)

So which is prefferable ... ?

Rocktron R Velocity 100 + Rocktron Chameleon

or Randall RH100X G2 head ?

I would suggest if you want all tube amps/head, there's a new one from Peavey. It's called The Valveking. And it's around 500 US$(for the head) and 400 US$(for the cab). I heard nice versatility amp of the same brand called the JSX. Anyways, just suggesting some. 8)

Hey Metalhead ,
jump on your guitar keep playing no matter what kind of amp you're using. I have the opinion that the most important thing is just to practice on playing and not to focus on gear (amps, pedals, guitars etc.).

Man, you got that right!!! I have two LPs that I can't let out of my grasp or sight for long!!! That's a really nice picture of a pretty goofy looking guitar if you ask me, though. I've got to agree with your comment about the feel, if that's an ebony fingerboard. There's an ebony fingerboard on my '83 Explorer.

Why does the amp always have to be 100 watts or bigger?

Why not a combo like a vintage JTM 45?

Just asking.

A stack looks cooler than a combo ;)
and I got this one fairly cheap.

Cmon Dean, as if u dont want a cab, specially for playing live, not that u need 100 watts, a combo is great for small gigs and praccin at home, but they just dont cut it like a couple of cabs. :)
