Look, I know the site is filled with Badlands fans, but c'mon...that is a classic heavy metal album. One of the best of all time. I have that bootleg and Ray doesn't sing it better just because it is Ray.

Ray was a good hard-rock, blues singer, but not a good heavy metal singer. At least I never thought so. The fact that Ronnie is still around singing his ass off just verifies that point.

If you compared Ronnie and Ray at the same age, believe me Dio would hold on his own.

Not that my comment was directed at you, Doobie.

Were you referring to Mr. Tate?

I've not heard Ray sing any of RJD era Black Sabbath stuff, but I love to hear Ray sing the old Ozzy era stuff no doubt. I think Ray shines on his live version of the acutal song, "Black Sabbath"! Very, very cool indeed!

Dio showed how wide his range was when he sang for elf and Rainbow and actually could pull some bluesy stuff off. Unfortunately i think that Ray died before we actually got to see just how good he could have been. Though Ray was a good vocalist and i love the guy there is really no way you can compare him to Ronnie and im sure if Ray were alive hed be the first to tell you that. Even Ozzy has said that he wishes he had the pipes that DIO has. As far as Sabbath goes i think that Ozzy's voice was the best for their style of music IMO and by saying that im not saying he had a better voice than RJD :? ya following me. Well the great thing about musical debates is that there is no right or wrong and its all just a matter of what you like. Unless your saying that Rap sucks balls and thats just a plain and simple fact.

I personally would like to hear Eminem sing Voodoo or Turn Up the Night. I really don't think he has had the chance to show what he is capable of.

There can only be one RJD. I like Ray's versions of his Sabbath tunes, but I agree with Mr. Metal that RJD is definately more of a metal singer than Ray. Both of those guys will always be among my favorite singers period.

Dio and Gillen, are no comparison, different singers, although Dio I think is a better singer overall. :)
