I'm goin' to get it now! I had become bored with the conversation in this thread, and I was like "boo." As in . . . Du bist ein stinkende schweinhund (sp?). It's a line my cousin taught me for fun, when he got back from training for his master's in music in Germany and The Netherlands, a number of years ago. I don't know German at all, but I developed an interest while growing up amidst Porsche racing team guys. Nothing personal, you know.

Brethren,

It just so happens that I am experiencing a personal
renaissance for the past... and it's Jake and Gary Moore.
I am curious if anyone even knows that Gary used to belt
out some solid screaming riffs and solos in the hard rock
realm.
I saw Rush during the Grace Under Pressure tour and I have
to say I was soooo blown away by Gary Moore, I was too
burnt to enjoy my first of many Rush shows.

Although not available any longer, do yourselves a favor -- since
we are all into a very underrated guitarist find these two albums and
discover yet another underrated guitarist. Most Europeans have cited
him as a major influence from Mike Shenker to even Vivian Campbell
in his early years with DIO. "Corridors of Power" and "Victims of the Future"

Most people nowadays believe he is a blues player. Just another old school
guy that I wish would put his "rock boots" on once again....cuz like Jake,
GEEEEZ.... he rocked hard. You know... he was also up for the Ozzy gig just like George Lynch was.

I happen to like his voice... during his rock days, he was surprisingly
very god-like on the guitar even though he also sang lead vocals.
I am going to get whatever Jake and Gary Moore I can this Christmas.

PEACE>>>
Max

Couple of interesting things (well for me anyway lol)! yes Gary Moore is a great guitarist, I love the Wild Frontier album, he's originally (before moving to Dublin and joining Thin Lizzy) from the same place as me, Dundonald just outside Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Anyways, as far as Jake goes, Gary did an interview with the legendary Tommy Vance on BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, back in probably 87/88 and Tommy asked him were there any current guitarists who blew him away and straight away he said Jake, and also that what impressed him most was that he happened to be in the same hotel in America as Ozzys band and while they were all down in the bar getting legless, Jake was up in his hotel room practising his guitar

I like Gary Moore, alot - he and Jake E. Lee are both Bluesy heavy master Guitarist(s) amongst their music field and I for one wouldn't mind seeing them jam/work together on a Blues/Rock recording & stage one day. I highly admire their music styles & energies! That's very down to Earth what Mr. Moore said of JAKE at that time of him being highly impressed by Jake E. Lee's electric guitar flames & being blown away by his guitar playing skills. How Cool, I like that!
