Both of these guys put an impressive mark on rock'n'roll as we know it.
But who do you prefer ?!

Mate, so hard to pick, like u said, made a major mark on guitar history....both of these guys made a major influence on me, specifacally EVH, Eruption was one song that got me in to guitar playing, yet I learnt Crazy Train and Over the mountain B4 I got Eruption down. :) Equal score from me, cant pick a winner here. :)

Ya know its kind of unfair to Mr. Rhodes because i think his best work was yet to be done. Just imagine if Randy had lived what he would have given not only rock and metal music but music in general.

It's so Randy Rhoads for me. EVH is cool with the effects, but in musical talent, it would be Rhoads. Not saying that EVH isn't musical, but if you know what I mean...

No comparison. Apples to oranges.

Yeah, and Rhoads was indeed experienced/schooled in music which EVH wasn't. But Ed got his creativity though.

They're both great. But it's hard to compare them. They both have they're own unique style of playing.
