Metallica.

I also like Megadeth, but not as much as Metallica. Fade To Black is probably the best ballad the have. It kind of bugs me when I see rookies play this song on guitar and screw it up... Just a pet peeve. :x

Are you joking? Do you actually rate Hanneman ahead of Friedman? Anyway I'd say Megadeth....the musician ship was incredible and fun and challenging to play on guitar. Skolnick is another great thrash guitarist too. Metallica was a great band but as a guitarist myself I always thought the band would have been better with a better lead guitarist. IMO Kirk is a terrible guitarist. Metallica had 5 great albums though.

Dude you listen to Show no mercy, seasons in the abyss, reign in blood, south of heaven, and decade of live aggression and then see if you can say Jeff Hanneman doesnt equal to that of Marty Friedman!

No question...Megadeth. I like Metallica too, but Megadeth has superior musicianship by far.

As a guitar player, Jeff Hanneman isn't even in the same league as Marty Friedman, or Chris Poland for that matter. I'm not saying the guy sucks, but he's not even close to Friedman or Poland.

IMO Jeff Hanneman isn't anything special but Marty Friedman is an amazing guitarist. Al Pitrelli and Chris Poland are great too. I have most of those albums anyway. Have you ever tried to play Marty's stuff on guitar? Not easy!

Metallica hands down. Better songs, Better vocals and the fact that they have maintained pretty much the same lineup for at least the majority of their career gets them my nod. Maybe if Mustaine had stuck with the Friedman,Menza and Ellefson lineup he could have done alot better for himself.Anyway just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions
