My "Whitey" Project

Postby jempc » Thu Feb 03, 2011 3:24 pm

What has everyone been using for a hardtail body? All Fenders have the routing for the trem... and all the replacement bodies are the same... mighty mite... etc...

Just wondering what everyone else has been using....

Thanks
Jay

You can get a hard tail body from bhefner or warmoth... I'm sure others make them too. There is a 2010 USA Fender Billy Corgan Hardtail Strat Body with Nitro finish, on ebay, but its $499.

There is no cheap way to do it...but if that is what you want, what is the difference? I'd personally go bhefner, he seems straight up and if you do the body and the neck together, it will fit like a glove per the owner. They do offer a 70s neck, but Jake modified his neck from what I've heard.
For more info see:

If I had the money, I'd go this route... the guy will answer all your questions, so call them; the support seems world class to me!

Either way,

I've been struggling with the same thing. I want a hartail but I'm stuck with the inevitable..spend a lot of $ for something I'll have to repaint or spend a lot of $ and get exactly what I need. BHefner has the closest thing to Jake's 74 Strat hardtail body you"ll find at a better price than Warmouth.I say stay away from the non-white bodies on Ebay. They're extremely tempting but why pay $375 when a repaint is gonna cost you $200-$300? I wound up buying a white Strat body with a tremelo cut because I have nooooo patience!! LOL! I'll probably just use that body to build another Squire Strat, wich, I love. I have everything else to build my Whittey, minus the body and neck, sitting on my dining room table driving my wife banannas!! Hope this helps....... 8)
