Yea, but I got a scalloped fretboard. 8) I could have made the guitar pretty close to the original including relicing, but I wanted features I could live with including the scalloped board with a 10-16" compound radius and a 4 bolt to boot.

The bridge I found on EBay, the tuners are Sperzels with Sperzel buttons (optional) and the pickguard I made myself.

Sure, or you could do it yourself by creating an account with a web photo host like www.photobucket.com.

Your white/black Jake turned out great! The bridge finishes it off nicely.
I need to get mine media blasted yet and then either powdercoated or painted. Some other photo's I have show a chromed bridge on there as well.

How do you like the scalloped board? They're not my cup of tea I don't play light enough.

Kudos Bengal, it turned out great!

I will let you guys know as things progress with the build.

I did find a guy who supposedly can make repro charvel brass bridges to your specs like 2 1/8 string spread and so on. I can pass you on the name if you like.

Bengel,
If you don't mind me asking what length wood screw did you use to secure your bridge. The Ash body came with 1 1/2" screws measured from the head face to the tip.

I thought they were a little long for the application but I could be wrong I was think more along the lines of 1 to 1 1/4" Max for the maple body.

What do you think? Not sure what the industry standard length is out there for bridge mounting screws.

thanks,

I didn't measure them, so I'm not sure of the length. I just used the screws that are for Fender fixed bridges that I got from Stewmac. 1-1/4" would be fine since technically the Strat is a string thru. Heck, 3/4" would work for that matter. You just don't want the bridge moving sideways.

That would be nice if someone is milling these bridges. It would not be hard. There's a guy in Colorado making saddles, but it is hit or miss. If he isn't skiing, snowboarding or playing tennis, he will machine saddles. I've had no luck and told to check back from time to time.

M2203 and Bengal65-

Where do you get a Jake pickup configuration style pickguard and strat body? I thought Warmoth wouldn't do either body or pickguard with Jake's pickup config.

Please let me know.
Thank you you guys

You can get a "swimming pool" routed Stratocaster for the "white" guitar with pickguard (top) rout at Warmoth or Musikraft. If you want to get fancy Warmoth is doing "3-bolt" necks and bodies now. For a pickguard go to www.pickguardian.com. For the "non-pickguard" rear routed Charvel style body (Purple and Blueburst) go to www.musikraft.com. Talk to Jim (owner). He an I worked out the details to make these happen. Tell 'em Bengal (formally jaguar) sent ya!

hmmm...... went to drumcityguitarland and could not find any there.
looked under ESP, Charvel and Used sections

The 3 things on Jakes guitars that are unique:

1) the strat body with reverse slanted pickup config
2) the pick guard
3) the weird neck with 1-12 jumbo frets and, 13-22 medium

Pick Guardian i don't think sells the Jake Pick Guard with reverse slanted singlecoils.

The reason I'm asking is, yeah you cut them yourself, but how do you know exactly what angle they are at? All the measurements and stuff?
Someone should post a stencil or something on this site.
Thanks

Jefnels post on Pickguardian: www.jakeelee.com/html/testconvert/viewtopic.php?t=6 The pickup location, is in the standard Strat location with the left side (or bass side) down 10 Degrees from horizontal. It is basically the opposite of a bridge single coil.

Bengal- thanks for your patience man. I know i'm asking a lot of questions.

So from reading your other thread, you get a pickguard with a humbucker cut in the bridge position and then use a "StewMac single coil templete"

What is a "StewMac single coil template" ?

Ok cool thanks 10 degrees down and then when I get holes drilled, there's just the volume knob hole and the 5 way pickup selcter, no tone knob. But noticed the volume knob is low, where the tone knob normally is.
So is that what you do? Thanks
