Local Gas Prices

Re: Local Gas Prices
I can remember putting 75 cents worth of gas in the car and driving to school (5 miles away) for three days on it. Even better, I can remember having 5 bucks for the weekend and making it work for 2 packs of cigs and gas (there was A LOT of backroad cruising in those days, folks!)

Re: Local Gas Prices
You guys are just now complaining about gas prices? Where I live its been over 2 bucks a gallon for about 3 years now. And yeah, I can remember when I got my first car it was around 70 cents a gallon. Those were the days!

Re: Local Gas Prices
The way I figure it is: Milk is just as valuable here as gasoline is down under! Did i get that right?
Milk in California= $4.00 a gallon.
Gasoline in Australia= $4.80 a gallon.
How much for a gallon of cow juice Rock? I'd say close to a tenner.

Re: Local Gas Prices
Actually milk is about the same here, as u guys. Remember, our dollar is about 77 cents to your dollar, so that 4.80 a gallon here, works out to about 4.00 U.S. One thing that is cheap here is good quality meat. We like a fkn good steak to throw on the bbq.
Heres a good question for u americans, how much do u pay for broadband over there, and what is your d/load limit, and speed. Is about 50 bucks, for 20 gigs here @ 1500/256k speed. U can get faster speeds up to 24000k/1000 but depends if the exchange is upgraded.

Re: Local Gas Prices
Gas here in Tampa area is around $2.55 a gallon, depending how close to town you are & which store you go to! I remember when I got my '74 Beetle, I could fill the tank up for $8 & go an entire week on it!
Milk is about $3.79 a gallon.
Broadband/DSL - well it depends on the provider. Verizon was about $30/month. Right now, I'm too far out for it, so I'm stuck w/dialup - I feel ya, Doobs! People PC with the "accelorator" (if its this slow with it, hate to see the speed without it!) runs about $20/month. I'll be getting Road Runner soon, but I'm getting a special rate for government employees of $33/month.
But lets get to the important question - What are beer prices? (lol) Here, an 18 bottle pack of Miller Lite is about $19

Re: Local Gas Prices
I sympathize with you fire and Rain, but check this out! My brother-in-law owns the local ISP, and we're sitting here on dial-up. Although, it's free, as broadband would be, I don't want them driving that big, damn bucket truck across my yard to install a tower. Price of beer, you say?! I don't know. I don't drink very often, these days. Come to think of it. . . a beer sounds pretty good right now!!! LOL Yeah, at 10:21 a.m.!!! LOLOL

Re: Local Gas Prices
Today I paid $2.59 for the cheap gas-10 cents more than a week ago.
Milk is $2.99/gallon.
Beer is $9.99 for a 12 pack of Yuengling. I don't drink beer, but I've mailed alot of Yuengling out to my non east coast friends
As for broadband, I pay $45/month for cable modem via Verizon. I don't know what speed it is, but it's pretty fast.
Happy Friday, everyone!

Hey, Doobie-did she bring you Gauloises? I smoked those when I was in Paris, and they WERE alot better than the Marlboro Lights I was smoking at the time (I quit awhile back).Doobie wrote: She brought me back a pack of French cigarettes ($6) - they were awesome - HUGE difference from Am. cigs. So, if I had those cigs made available to me everyday and could afford them (!), I'd probably chain, too!
Happy Friday, everyone!

Re: Local Gas Prices
In Europe and Canada gas is sold in liters. There's approximately 4 liters to a gallon. So they're paying more than we are.
