Jake & Joe Holmes
I've just seen a video of Ozzy doing "In my life" off his "Undercover" album. It features a run through Ozzy's history but once again seems to have omitted anything from Jake's era but also i noticed Joe Holmes was missing as well. What have these guys done to be so blatantly snubbed by the O$bourne's and history??? It's not as if either guitarist was in the band about the same amount of time as time as, say, Bernie Torme.

Re: Jake & Joe Holmes
Yeah I agree....I think Jake was important as Randy and Zakk. The Ultimate Sin and Bark At The Moon had a lot of great songs and amazing solos.
Re: Jake & Joe Holmes
Jake significantly contibuted to Ozzy's catalog and TUS was a pretty successful album by metal standards. So Jake was an important piece of the Ozzy history whether they want to admit it or not.
Joe, well, he sat in for a tour or two when Zakk wanted to do something different. Didn't really do much besides be a gun for hire. He played well live, I will give him that.

I saw Joe Holmes play with Ozzy a few times live...I wasn't impressed. Jake and Zakk are much better than Joe Holmes will ever be. I never got a chance to see Randy play with Ozzy, I was to young.

That's about the only good thing about getting old...Some things you get to experience from the beginning.

Joe Holmes is the only guy I've heard play the BATM solo
somewhat similar to Jakes version. He does this to most solos
that's not written by him.

whenI saw him ( joe Holmes) play on the Ozzmosis tour he did not fit the bill at all now I know he never got to record with Ozzy to prove him self like all the others but in the live Arena where it counts the most he fell very shoer and thats what I am bassing this on besides Jake rocks period!!!

Joe did great when I saw him too. Did a great BATM like Metal Head commented on and his version of Revelation/Steal Away was another dead on rendition. I thought he was a great, great player.
How much did you drink at the show Strat? Kidding of course.

I dont drink or do anything that Impairs my playing , I just didnt like his sound maybe it was the Venue I was at (the portland Civic center in Portland Maine),
his sound just didnt do it for me hell maybe it was because it was not Zakk or Jake !! who knows. whatever it was It did not do it for me at all!!!
I saw Ozzy before Randy with my dad when he had brad Gillis play for him and that show rocked I never saw him with randy which I wished I could have But I saw him three times with jake and about 6 times with Zakk plus 1 time with the Black sabbath reuions which kicked ass of course.

Joe holmes also filled in for Steve vai after vai's departure from the David Lee Roth band but strictly as a road dog, not a session player.
