I now know why Jake never took his SG Junior on the road. They are so delicate, but have monster sound. I didn't have to pay for her with a newspaper route, but my hands fingers and my entire house is a wreck right now! The collection grows.

Guys, I'll never understans how you can enjoy a SG the neck feels 100 miles away from the body; and is so long that you need octopus arms to play the first frets. :?:

They're truly awesome guitars, man. I'm actually looking for a white w/ black pickguard Jake guitar, but I can't find any affordable replicas. Know where I can get any?

Depends what your definition of affordable is in a JEL Replica. Charvel will be releasing limited editions in the white, blueburst and purpleburst soon through Jason at Drum City Guitarland. I have no idea what the street selling price will be, but I'm guessing with my experience with the Custom Shop it will be between $1900-2200. The least expensive way to get a JEL Replica is make it yourself if you have the skills and resources.

Yep, and if your not picky (I wasn't) about a 3 bolt, micro tilt, bullet neck setup, your good to go with the standard 4 bolt setup. I mainly use Warmoth and Musikraft. Musikraft customizes a little more to your own personal liking.

The micro tilt mechanism was part of the 3 bolt setup and still is on some American made 4 bolt Fender's like the Strat Plus as an example. It's found by the small hole in the plate. A set screw is threaded into the neck side round plate that is screwed to the neck heel. When the set screw is turned clockwise the screw bares down on the plate mounted in the neck cavity in the body and tilts the neck. It acts like a shim placed under the heel of the neck. By screwing the set screw in and out, you adjust the amount of tilt of the neck in relation to the body and strings.

Where have you been! Nothing like digging up old threads
