Badlands' almost-female-singer
Someone recently asked in a thread if Badlands ever planned to work with a female singer after Ray's departure.
They did. Jake said in an interview that he was a huge fan of Mother's Finest, who was opening for them at one point on the UK dates of the '92 tour when Badlands was indulging in all the infighting--so I'd imagine he had a similar thing in mind when he tapped Debby Holiday to take over (this, I believe, was pre-John West).
Obviously, like with West, this didn't happen. I don't know if they got past talks or rehearsals, but I recall reading that audiences wouldn't accept anyone other than Ray so they had to ask him back. That would suggest maybe they played a few shows with someone else, but not sure about that one.

Mother's Finest is the BOMB! I have a couple of their cds. That would have been an interesting project if it had worked out. Debby's got a great voice.
