Jake E. Lee Replica guitars

His name was Roy.......he emailed me like 5 days ago in refernce to this.

I'm having one built as well, but not from them. I originally was going to use them, until Roy told me that they use Squire's. I had to laugh at that. I guess Roy is in the sales dept.

Perhaps we can exchange ideas, as I'm having one built here in NY.

Yes...Roy is who I worked with on getting things ready for my Jake!!! I will call him and find out for sure!!! I believe he told me that they had all the wood picked out and ready to go, just need to run through and cut body/neck.. If I do find out they plan on building mine from a squire...I'll get my money back!!!! I don't know because Roy always stated my Jake guitar was going to be built from scratch!!! What builder in NY are you going through?

I have a guy that privately builds all my guitars. He worked for years at ESP custom shop in NYC.

Anyway, I saw the Jake photos on the website, and emailed Roy. I asked him how much and how long.. He told me it was a squire, and it would cost $1200. So make sure you know what your getting..

If I'm going to spen $1,200-$1,500 I'd rather have my guy build it from scratch, as I know the work he does..

Actually....Now that I think about it...when I first saw that Jake on the site, Roy did say it was a squire replicated to look like Jakes white one. He said it was not built to be a player or anything special, just wanted to build a Jake replica. He did say that he would build mine from scratch my choice of woods and parts. So maybe you misunderstood thinking he builds all replicas from squires...when he did that it was for himself. Although he did sell it, but stated it was not really a player just purely a cosmetic replica. The guy that is buliding a Jake for you, does he do this as a buisness or just for individuals he knows?

He does it privately. He has a very long waiting list. If you didn't have yours being made already, I would send him to you.

He has a great photo album of all his work.

depends on what kind pof replica you want.

is it the ash-bodied white charvelized strat or
is it the blue/purple burst one?

it would probably be cheaper to build the the charvelized strat
but I have to find the pickups too

I can get something close to the Holdsworth prototype humbucker
from the Duncan customshop or you could settle for a plain JB

The SDS-1's are still available from the DiMarzio customshop
and you could find some on eBay like this

but then again. it's all up to you and what preferences you'd like
on the guitar and what price you're willing to pay

If you're REALLY INTERESTED, shout at me and I'll
do a calculation on how much things would cost

later.

including painting and whatever

but seeing as Jake's guitar is a hardtail, no FR would be needed
and no Special neck, just a maple/rosewood one
is it 21 or 22 frets btw ?! ...

you kiddin??... I never seen 21-fret-guitars in connection with Jake or any other one on that level... actually... I don need 24 frets but a neck up to the 22th fret would be very nice ...

Fenders have 21 or 22 frets. I haven't noticed how many is on Jakes though
