Man, I see some of the gas prices in your area of the USA, and I'm like, "Wish it were that cheap here"..in the Pacific NW, and I live near 3 oil refineries, it's over $3 a gallon. Crazy!! Price Gouging? Nah, not here!!! And I use the 87 octane, and go to Napa for the Gas Additives. And I drive a Nissan Sentra for obvious reasons. Going to band practices and jams? Only if it's serious, for real. Have to drive far, Seattle area, and outlying areas, for that. Where I come from, Eastern Wa, the commute is not quite so bad.

In another thread, I asked about playing with my old band, going back there and all. It cost me $110 all wkend to gas up a rented Kia Spectra. 5 years ago, probably $50, tops. Glad I have good employment!!!

We are nearly $1.50 a litre, and there are about 4 litres to a Gallon, so that makes our petrol about $6 a Gallon, which would roughly be about $5 U.S a Gallon, what a fkn rip off, our governments gets about 60% of that in fuel excise and taxes, and do nothing to get it out the ground, refine and sell it. :(

Agreed, but Peak Oil is near which will push the price over $100 per barrell. At that time we'll look back at these current prices and talk about how good we had it.

Yeah, no kidding, Dean!!! Actually, I don't think the problem is that there is no drilling up there, but the 'powers that be" have decided to keep the pumps on low. Whatever. This morning it was about $2.84 in Palm Coast. Ten cents more if you want to get-down-and-boogie. Owww, one more radar lover gone!!!

I heard on the news last week that So. Cal,.. San Diego in particular, has the highest gas prices in the nation. Last night at the local Chevron it was $3.29 for regular unleaded.

And I heard that BP is shutting down the biggest oil field in Alaska for a pipeline leak....... probably for months.

That's just f**kin' great! :x
