Vivian Campbell would be my favorite just for his work on the Holy Diver album alone. I also thought Tracy G did one hell of a job on Strange Highways as well. But Vinnie gets my vote.

Well, I'd say Doug Aldrich BUT Tracy G. is a pretty amazing guitarist. I have an official live Dio album (can't remember the title at the moment  ) where he's doing all kinds of weird noises plus he had a fantastic sound.

I beleive the album was entitled " Live Inferno ". I actually saw Dio live with Tracy G in Austin Tx and he did a hell of a job. Oh yea he had Jeff Pilson ( Dokken ) on bass. 8)

This was called "Dio's Inferno - The Last In Live" and was recorded during the 96/97 tour.

Doug Aldrich is the best shredder and my personal favorite.

Vivian did the classics.

Tracy was the most innovative.

Craig is the rock. He still writes some great riffs.

I think you guys forgot about Rowan Robertson. He played guitar on Dio's 'Lock Up The Wolves' album at the tender age of 19! That's pretty amazing for me.From those names listed above my personal choice is Doug Aldrich but I'll put on the second place Robertson :D

I DID! And I saw that tour. Rowan did a note for note version of Heaven and Hell and it was the only time I have seen Dio perform that song the way Black Sabbath did.

I can't believe I forgot him. Born on the Sun is one of my favorite Dio songs.

Oh, btw, for Tracy G. fans check out his website www.tracyg.com it's full of cool infos about his gear, for instance he likes to inflict various scars, holes, cracks and burns on his guitars, just check out his 'Sandovals, they're pretty unique and... 8O I really like that look, I'm in love!
Also do check out the forum too, Tracy sometimes drops by to say hello and answers questions, he actually answered one of mine. I thought that was pretty cool of him to do that.
