Thinking of a building a Charvelised Strat replica.
I want to use a Charvel neck and a Fender body. Anyone know where I can find these?
Re: Thinking of a building a Charvelised Strat replica.
your best bet is to get a Fender neck(CBS headstock) and reshape
it, just like Jakes was done.
I have no idea how his is routed, but you'll want an ash-body

www.warmoth.com would be a good place to start looking.

The guys at Musikraft can make both the body and neck for you.I just got this body from them.

We get this question a lot. If you're going for a true replica, then I wouldn't recommend Warmoth at all. They advertise "custom" guitar parts, but there is really nothing custom about Warmoth at all. They have certain templates for their products and they do not stray from the template. you may have luck talking them into certain ideas if you pester them, but they will apply a significant upcharge if they agree to it.
I'd recommend USA Custom Guitars over any other shop because of their great products, ability to customize and excellent customer service.
If you are looking to create a Strat-style guitar that only looks like one of Jake's, you can get the parts from Warmoth. They are excellent quality, but very expensive.

tahnks alot for your info, my thoughts are now torn between building my own blue Jake Charvel and order one at a customshop... cuz the thing is: where to get golden hardware, a golden Charvel waterslide decal and that paintjob...jefnel1 wrote:We get this question a lot. Do you prefer Waromth' compound neck style (10" - 16") or the straight design offered by most of "big guitar brands"?

www.musikraft.com. My Jake guitars were the first prototypes made at Musikraft.
Re: Thinking of a building a Charvelised Strat replica.
I,m a lefty and I used a strat body and had a neck made by a guy in Cleveland. I bought a waterslide decal and applied it myself. My Charvelised Strat is now my number 1 guitar above my USA Jackson.
