The best thing about those samples was their brevity.

Also, I agree with the "Over the Mountain" comment -- yes, very reminiscent -- but hey, reheated Randy licks are better than reheated Frank Marino licks.

I will probably buy it and listen to it however it sounds like zakk has tuned his guitar far too low for my liking really. I may sound narrow minded but my favourite tuning is standard and e flat.

You are.

Tom Englund of Evergrey plays some fantastic lines in drop C, C#, and D tunings. I actually prefer the lower tones myself, but Eb is also a fave of mine as well.

Breaking Benjamin is another band that does very well melodically in the lower range.

OZZY braided his hair burgundy: that's pretty wild and he looks good. Anyway, I liked what I heard from the snippets music samples teasers: the moment you get into the groove of the song it goes off! So, it certainly has a nice grinding punch to it Ozzy Osbourne "Black Rain" which is teaser sample #5 - all the songs sound quite promising/and heavy Rocking and look forward to it's release in June 2007. Peace and all the best to the legendary musician Vocalist Ozzy Osbourne & his band. 8) Peace!

I have no doubt that bands are able to manipulate these lower tones better than others however my experiences and personal preference has lead me to feel that standard and e flat are the tunings for me :)

It all comes down to preference. I like Eb and that is mainly what I play in for the most part. But I do have an Ibanez tuned to C and a seven string Washburn for those occasions when Eb is just not low enough. 8)

Full version of a song off the album is avaible on:

ozzyosbourne.com

The site is in flash, you have to use your mouse cursor (which is a cross) to a book on the the top shelf on the left portion of the website. You have to put your cursor there the whole time by the way. :?
"Hahaha, you don't see rockstars with straight A's in high school and such," says johnthebrucelee. "Actually, that only goes to show that playin' guitar ain't rocket science," Deansolo remarked. ;)

I'll reserve my judgements when i get to hear more than these snippets. Solo section 8 does sound like Over the Mountain to me and was the first thing that popped into my head.

how do i approach this, ummmm!!

i dont have to tread too carefully here, cause this isnt Ozzy's forum, but saying that, there are some big Ozzy fan's here..

so what do i think of what ive heard, granted there's only a few seconds of samples to chew on, ok lets see, i didnt like the last two Ozzy cd's, i think Zakk's riff playing on the last two BLS cd's sound tired & lazy, gone are the days / riff's like "no more tears" "tattooed dancer" & "superterrorizer"..ohh, & in the UK, Ozzy does TV adverts for a brand of butter!! ohh dear!! thats not very "Metal" is it??

credit where credit is due, Ozzy has recorded some magical moments in his time, but i do feel Mtv's "The Osbournes" started the slide, even my grandma likes Ozzy & Sharon now, & that aint funny folk's!!

just because Ozzy farts down a mic & records it, doesnt make it good! (no offence)

to be honest i didnt like "any" of what i heard, but im fair, & will give it a longer / second listen, but i dont expect much..

sorry in advance if this post get's your blood boiling, it's just how i see it!

cheers

Matty...
