Jake E. Lee inspired Charvel Holdsworth mutt

Post by Tonefiend »

Thought you guys would like to see this one, i posted it onthe Charvel forum a while back and I peruse this forum infrequently hoping to find news Jake is going to make an album and tour! I always liked Jakes Playing, especially the Badlands stuff. I was also a major Charvel freak back in the day. Unfortunatly I had to sell my old strat head star but I kept some parts and a neck from back in the day so I threw this together.

SD Charvel with a few improvements. Light weight ash body, lake placid blue metallic finish witht he right white primer, Early '60s Gibson patent sticker PAF, NOS '81 Dimarzio pot, warnmoth guard, '80s charvel strat head neck tinted to match an old worn out oil finish with a uber thing satin nitro lacquer finish. Headstock has a double logo and is gloss nitro. Original nut and gold gotoh crown head tuners. Original SD Charvel serial plate and protector, restored and re lacquered '80s Charvel/Schecter brass strat jack. NOS brass trem lacquered like the originals. Original brass knob restored and re lacquered.

Lovely craftmanship & details of a very rich looking Guitar(s): nice to hear that Trailblazer legend Jake E. Lee inspired the new design of this Charvel Holdsworth "mutt" design. That's a change to call a guitar a mutt but low and behold that's part of it's name. Anyway, there a treasure & richly high quality made and I bet JAKE loves playing them writting new songs & such. On the next new Solo Project of yours, Mr. Lee add some new fiery  flames of yours on your new & old Classic guitars! Peace. :D

Jake played the Allan Holdsworth model Charvel. This one is a mix of original and new parts hence the term Mutt.

I absoloutely love what you've done with that Tone. Its brilliant, the blue is radiant and under neon lights will look fantastic! I also love what you've done with the headstock. Really brilliant!

Those ash bodies weigh next to nothing. We've had one for a number of years and they really do weigh nothing, with a trem, and they resonate forever (thats a fender however).
Great job! :) 8)

Thanks Charvelised for those pictures. That last image the one with the bare wood coloured in is really great.

excellent post!
