Well, that time of year already - ProgPower IX in ATL

Postby mrmetal » Wed Sep 24, 2008 4:56 pm

Yes, it is time again for the metal pilgrimage to Atlanta, Georgia for the legenday ProgPower Festival.

On this year's must see agenda:

Iced Earth - Saturday night's headliner of the great metal band and showcasing the return of Matt Barlow on lead vocals. Hell Yeah!!!!

Helloween - Need I say more?

Gamma Ray - Kai Hansen's melodic metal masterpiece of a band after dumping Helloween.

Andromeda - Prog metal greats from Sweden.

Iron Savior - A cousin to Helloween and Gamma Ray, great melodic metal from Germany that was a side project's of Kai Hansen's at one time.

Elvenking - Italian fantasy metalers, should be a nice dungeon and dragon moment that would make harddriver proud.

Jon Olivia's Pain - the closest thing I will get to seeing Savatage, so this will definately do!

Rob Rock - Great melodic metal vocalist sure to be something to see!

Of course, that is not all the bands that will be there, but these are the bands I most wanting to see this year. Other performers include Riverside, Amorphis, Saint Daemon, and more! Hopefully, I will remember enough of it to let you know how it went. Along with indulging in an overdose of metal, we ProgPower attendees tend to over induldge in Bud Lights, Rum and Cokes, and Tequila shots!

Is that metal or what?

That's a mighty heavy list of Master legendary bands: Gamma Ray & Helloween on the same stage, WOW! Their gonna blow every one away, their major awesome bands & I "love" their works. It was very nice of GAMMY RAY when the fans so wanted them to come to the USA for neon yrs they put together a contest some yrs back & about maybe 10 winners or so maybe more got the chance to see them/all expense paid for (by the band, I guess) to go to Germany Europe to see them "Rock down the House." I thought that was really awesome of Gammy Ray to do! 8) :o :D Once, again great master bands line-up and enjoy, hopefully the PROG POWER Fest can expand to the Mid & West coast areas, too so "all" of us can get a mighty eyeful/earful of such major music talents so mentioned: Helloween, Iced Earth, Gamma Ray...'a mighty big Wow! 8O Peace.

My Aunt has a gigantic house in Buckhead . . . ah - but she's down here, too! Seems like everybody is in Florida this time of year!!! Leaping lounge lizards, Batman!!! 8)

Buckhead's alright. Yeah, the freaking Ramseys of "Jon Benet Ramsey" fame moved in around the damn corner from my aunt, up there.
Everyone will love you, just as long as you are a shooting star.

Oh, my I bet you had a blast of a time Mr. Metal: what a treasure list of major bands that kicked off this year ProgPower Metal Festival 2008, that takes place yearly. GAMMA RAY were really present how "sweet it is" (their my favorite Progressive Metal band, then I would say Primal Fear & Helloween, Stratovarius, then Evergrey & Symphony X, etc.,.) as Jackie Gleeson would say, I was looking at the song list Gamma Ray song list that's pretty impressive & more so when they joined forces with HELLOWEEN wow what a mega list they performed, too and ICED EARTH & ROB ROCK in whom are all master legends. I know you had a hellava time (I saw some of the pix on the "awesome" music/news 'site Bravewords.com & I'm like the Concert truelly took place, already...'how exciting!) & if you like to share more of your fabulous time/a break down of your day at this years famous ProgPower Metal Fest 2008, do so with pix in all! :D  8) Peace.

Hey Shadow. We had a great time.... I have seen all those bands you mentioned at ProgPower over the years - except for Symphony X, I did catch them here in Houston last year.
