My name is Dan Reed, guitarist and backup vocalist of
the northern Michigan based band Evershine.
Just wanted to register and be a part of this forum.
Jake E. Lee is without question the biggest influence on
my playing.
I was a drummer, then I went to a party somewhere around
1986 where someone was playing the Ultimate Ozzy video
on VHS. I walked in right as Jake started his solo.
Sold my drums and bought a guitar.

Evershine Dan, the song 'Cruel But Kind' is major kick ass IMO. Your wife has a very pretty voice but, it's almost too "pretty" for that song. I mean no offense by saying that! The song is so hard it just needs a raspier vocal. Just my opinion, though! Keep rockin'!!

Don't I know it!! When we wrote that particular song, and a few others, she was balls out in rasp and power. Our producer asked that she lighten her vocals throughout the album, especially on that song, and appeal to a broader audience.
It kills her that she sings this song so lightly.

He also asked that I lighten my solos, and be more melodic.
So I did..
