Which ones are you catching this year?

I just purchased tickets for Def Leppard and Heart. Looking forward to Heart ... the one band I've never seen live.

Ted Nugent plays a free concert the night after Def and Heart. At this age, I'm not sure I can do two nights in a row at the fair

I saw Whitesnake twice this past week and they were just freaking great!! I saw them at both a smaller venue and an ampitheatre which was really cool, and got to meet Doug Aldrich at both shows. Doug is one of the nicest people in the world, he really took alot of time with me, my son and my friends. At the second show Doug got us backstage and we got to meet the whole band. We didn't meet Coverdale, but I know he's limiting that kind of stuff on this tour, probably to watch his voice which was incredible by the way. Their drummer, Brian Tichy is an absolute beast and a heck of a nice guy to.

I know they start the European tour tommorrow, but they will be back in the states in August (I believe), if you have a chance to go see them by all means do it. This version of the band may be the strongest yet!!

I am also hoping to catch Journey this year, their new single sounds great and I've always wanted to see Neal Schon live, I know "Uncle Ted" is going to be here to, so I may catch that as well.

You should be Doobie!!! The first show we saw in Biloxi was as good as the 2005 dvd, Coverdale was unbelievable, every bit the rock god he is known to be, fabulous voice, great showman, he had it all. Biloxi was so cool because we were so close you could see every little nuance of the show, and meeting Doug just topped it off perfect, he was really beyond nice to me and my son.

Southaven was the quintessential amphitheatre show and WS is the perfect band for it, they sounded just HUGE, Doug's guitar tone was the bomb that night, and that was with his #2 amp (they sent duplicate rigs to Europe, his #1 Marshall went there), plus, I like the fact that they are pushing the new record (which is freaking great) as well as keeping most of your favorite older songs in the set. We got to hear their soundcheck, which was really cool because they played a bunch of stuff that was not in the show and we talked with Doug pre-show as well as the whole band after show. And they were all extremely nice!! I got pictures, autographs, Doug even got us all something to drink at both shows, my son was so impressed, that when we got home at 3:30 a.m., he went and put the dvd in and went to sleep with it on.

I really can't say enough good things about Doug Aldrich, he really is a super nice person, and a smokin' guitarist on top of it. I was really glad that my son got to meet someone like him and Brian Tichy, because they really made a good impression on him. A great week to say the least!!! Forgive me for being wordy.

So far I have seen Loudness, Accept, and Bob Seger with plans to see more!

I've heard Accept is really kicking ass on this tour, that would be cool to see. I'd love to see Loudness just to see Akira ,who is such a monster player. I'd probably have to travel to see them but that would be cool, I'm a road dog at heart, lol!!

You're in for a treat to see Ann & Nancy live! While their lineup has changed a few times over the years, those two are always awesome. The last time I saw them, they played a few Zep covers for encores: Black Dog, Misty Mountain Hop and Rock'n'Roll. When is your show?

We've got tix to see Robin Trower this month - he's playing at a local Baltimore club called Ramshead Live. We may also check out Ted Nugent, Molly Hatchet, Rare Earth and Grand Funk @some biker thing in Morgantown, WV called MountainFest

Aug. 19th. Trower was here in April (couldn't afford him and TSO in the same week) and my brother saw Alice Cooper a few weeks ago at the casino. He said Alice put on a really good show.

My b/f talked me into going to a couple of days of MountainFest 2011 in Morgantown, WV. The second day lineup is Ted Nugent & Molly Hatchet - first day is Rare Earth & Grand Funk Railroad.

The things you do for love haha although I did drag him to see the Goo Goo Dolls last summer - his head nearly exploded LOL!

It all depends on whose playing at the Cal EXPO State Fair this yr. : I think the last live Concerts I've seen in a the last 3-4 yrs were THREE DOG NIGHT (oh, my what Treasure live Iconic-Performance) and TESLA a yr after that and both legendary bands kicked it live!! So, I have to do some searching first of all to see whose coming near my neck of the Woods so to speak. I would love to see RARE EARTH (legendary Saxophonist/Founder Gil Bridges is the only Origional member still present and I did see Gil & Ray Monette (Ed Guzman was ill) in '93 Chicago their kicked mega-bums...'and the other legendary Founder/Drummer RARE EARTH Pete Riveria-Hoorelbeke Tours w/the CLASSIC ROCK ALL STARS in whom I saw perform live a number of times in early 90's & '00's...'their incrediable, Wow!!). Enjoy, your selves everyone when your Band(s) come your way...'I get all misty-eyes when I see my treasures/musicians hit the stage and hell of nervous when I get the chance to say a few words w/a big hello-hugs tp them! I got the opportunity to this a couple of times and believe me their precious memories..'that I hold-treasure to Heart! Always.

My b/f & I saw Robin Trower on Thursday night - wow, very impressive! He's 66 years old now, and they only played for an hour + two encores. My first time seeing him - he's so smooth & was playing a yellowish Fender. Plus he was really into it! The original lead singer was there too - I was impressed that his voice still sounds as good as their recordings. And I was really happy that 'Daydream', one of my fave Trower songs, was played. Great show It was at a club in Baltimore:

The crowd was mostly male guitar disciples, and a few with their g/fs (like us lol)

Was so looking forward to seeing Heart for the 1st time. Went to Heart and Def Leppard last Friday evening. Ann and Nancy sounded great but,
1. They opened with a Led Zep cover tune
2. The lead guitar player was having a very off night or something. He sounded like shit, to say the least.
3. Three-song 80's montage in the middle of the concert sucked - the 80's were not my favorite era for Heart music.
4. They didn't even play Dreamboat Annie.
5. Came back for a 2-song encore, both of which were cover tunes (1 Zep and 1 Who.)
Ann's voice is even better live - amazing. Nancy was jammin' ... too bad the lead guitarist couldn't compliment her playing at all.
Def Leppard - not really one of my favorite bands but, they did put on a very good show. The stage looked amazing and Elliott's voice is still intact and has range. Played for a couple hrs which was enough time to allow for all their popular hits, 1 new one and 1 cover (Rock On - David Essex).
I'd give Heart another chance but, only if they were the headliner.

Doobie, I agree with you on Heart's guitar player, it's almost like Ann and Nancy plus backing musicians and not a full-fledged group. Also agree with you on the cover tunes, yeah, I know they can do Zepp well but I'd much rather hear Heart. Ann is one of the most incredible singers ever.
