I dont think Jake ever really officially joined Dio. From what i heard they couldnt get on the same page when it came to songs and lyrics and music and all that good stuff that comes with writing songs. Creative differances would probably be a good term to use to describe their very breif relationship. But thats just what ive read so their might be more to the story.

Jake was with Dio, according to Jake, for a month.Ronnie remembered it differently, to which Jake remarked on this board that "he is getting old".

Anywho, the band was Appice on drums ,RJD on bass and vocals, and Jake on guitar.Ronnie told me that info in late 2000.They worked up "dont talk to strangers" and a few others before Ronnie decided to go with Vivian, who was introduced to Jake as Dio's new guitar player. Jake says they took out all his parts.Shortly there after, jake was offered the Ozzy gig.

Jake is a great player, but I don't see where he should argue with Dio over lyrics. He is the master at writing lyrics.

I don't see where Jake wouldn't have fit playing with Dio then. It just sounds like a decision that himself and Wendy made. I don't think it necessarily was a bad decision on Dio's part, due to the success he has had. On the other side of the coin, Jake could have even made him better, so who knows?

Both Jake and Ronnie have had great careers, but Jake apparently lost interest in pushing himself after the demise of Badlands.
