FOOD!

Seeing as how we post just about anything on here ... let's talk food for a second.
:?: Question being: what food is it that calls you to the table and won't let you push yourself away until every last bit is gone? In other words ... what food do you abso-frickin'-lutely gorge yourself with until you're miserable? Mine would have to be homemade tacos with garden-fresh tomatoes and salsa. mmmmm !!!

Ditto! Mexican food is my downfall. The fact that I know how to make it is what makes it worse! You are right Doobie...fresh produce and authentic ingredients are the key to making any dish taste good. I generally make my own salsa with a food processor. Tomatoes, tomitillios, onions, cilantro, peppers, grilled to perfection and toss into the processor. Easy as pie!

I'll have to agree with both of you. Mexican food is my food of choice.

Uh oh, where's Olaf? I'm sure he can tell you all about good Mexican food!

Me? I have to say l love all kinds of veggies, beans, home made biscuits, etc. Pretty much, good ol' fashioned country cookin' is the best IMHO! Of course, you can just refer to me as a Tennessee hick too! :-)

Pizza is one of my favorite food groups :D but I love MEAT...prime rib, a nice juicy steak that's still sizzling from the grill...pot roast, beef tenderloin, tri tip. I'm a happy carnivore!

This weekend for Mother's Day I made a 10 lb roast pork with mashed potatoes, rice, pan gravy and asparagus. For dessert I made an almond poundcake topped with fresh strawberries. There's not a whole lot left! In our family, we celebrate occasions with MEAT. lol

I'm not real big on Mexican food...but that could be because I've only eaten the kind from chain restaurants. FRESH sounds yummy!

Stay away from those fast food Mexican places, Gutterflower. Homemade is, indeed, the way to go!!
10 lb. pork roast? goodness gracious! I don't eat that much meat in a year!! My daughter is a vegetarian and I'm not much of a meat person, myself. But, when I do partake, pork is the choice. I like a good baked pork chop or BLT every once in a while. I find it hard to feel good about eating meat with bird flu, mad cow, pissed-off pig (kidding), etc. going around. eek.

*sigh* I know the day is coming when it'll be safer to just give up meat altogether or just go all seafood (even that's not so great either).

Rissotto, pasta, or anything else Italian! What also gets me up is chinese food. And when it comes to deserts it is icecream with chocolate or caramel sauce for me!

Damn that got me hungry! :P

i dig jap.food, burritos ... almost everything to a certain degree,
and cooked by me of course :D

I do minced moose-meat as well ...
sallads ... you name it :)

I talked to my mom before last x-mas about my new-found
love for cooking, and I got a quite large cookingbook for present
