From Jake to Jake.

I once read that it was Ozzy who thought of changing Jake's name from Jake Williams to the more rock 'n' roll Jake E.Lee because of Jake's love of Bruce Lee and Martial arts. Has anyone else heard this story? or have any other info on who or where the name change came from? I know Zakk Wylde's name was also changed when he joined Ozzy's band.

afaik, Zakk changed his name by himself.

Upon joining Zyris is when he started calling himself Zakari Wyland.
He got the name from the TV show Lost In Space’s character Dr. Zachary Smith.

... and yeah, Jake E Lee has a better ring to it then Jake Williams,
or even Jakey Lou

I have many Japanese friends and they all say the same thing I asked them all if there are any lee"s in Japan they all say no so who knows Bro!
