Does Jake have a disease making him Blind?

I think the guitarist you are refering to is Johnny Hiland...he is a bit overweight and he is also legally blind, which means he cannot get a drivers license to operate a motor vehicle.

Like Jeff Healey and Jose Feliciano before him, eyesight does not make the guitarist. I bet we all would be shocked at the number of "rockstars" who wear contact lenses (and glasses when not in the public eye). It just surprises me that so many people would think the end was near just because somebody may need stronger glasses as they age! Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT saying that I know anything about Jakes eyesight, because I don't. What I am saying is: What difference would it make?

I really wish this rumor and all the speculation would just end 'cuz I know for fact that Jakes upbeat and excited and he's playing! I know this because we talked to him last week.

That place is a Gay Bar too (not that there is anything wrong with that); look at the website. Looks like lots of impersonators frequent the place; maybe that is a Jake impersonator. I thought it looked a little bit like him BTW.

I do have an old magazine from the Bark era, where Ozzy is being a little mean to Jake, saying that he is ..."blind as a bat without his glasses", and that "he got his girlfriend pregnant", so the eye rumour is probably pretty old, and that may be the origin. Who cares anyway. I'll have to find it; maybe it was Kerrang. Jake was also saying that "So tired" was boring to play.

Regardless of his health problems or lack thereof, at least he is giving us some new music. I wish he'd get a new band together and do some touring though.

It's just my opinion, it's an alright song, just not ranked high on my list.

Ozzy used to tease Jake by calling him "Mr Magoo" - his eyesight has always been a bit dodgy.
